"School Boy Antics"

The weekends brawl between Kelston boys and Auckland Grammar caused concern with officals and local rugby great Wilson Whineray. This then begs the question, are our sporting spectators over the top?

  1. Yes because I think spectators are giving to much pressure on players by Booing them or doing things like that and making the players in the field fustrated. And when they get Fustrated it causes allot of problems like what happened in Kelston Boys and Auckland Grammer match.

  2. Very interesting comment Anubhav. When you talk about pressure, have you ever been in that situation of frustration caused by spectators? If so, how did you to it?

  3. Yes i agree that spectators are over the top because they pressurise people and booing others. I also think that it is a bad thing that auckland grammer boys ha a fight with Kelston boys.

  4. yes i agree that spectators are over the top because if the officers are concerned it means that what the spectators are doing is very bad

    ReplyDelete
  5. i think when spectators boo people it makes the team play badly because it will affect their feelings

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yes our spectators can be a bit over the top but what about the english over soccer, or australians over AFL. We arent the only ones.

    ReplyDelete
  7. And some spectators even come to start fights.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes some spectators are over the top because after booing and pressurizing the opposition team and with the brawl with kelston and grammar but the spectators even started fighting about the match which is bad because the spectators are there to watch and they shouldn't get into fights because they should leave it for the to teams to sort out. Why should spectators get into brawls that the players should sort out?

  9. Sam , I see your point about others across the ditch and so forth, however, players have a code of conduct to follow. Do you think that spectators should have to follow along the same lines and if there is already something that is already in place, how is this message spread?

  10. i think that our spectators are over the top because thy shouldnt boo and people and start or get involved in a fight but nobody is perfect and i guess thats how they feel but i think they should just calm down and enjoy the game .

    ReplyDelete
  11. i agree with what aaron said because spectators are meant to watch the game and do some cheering for they their team to support them but definatly not booing the opposition team or starting fights. the spectators should think of themselves in the opposition's place, will they like it. if they don't then the other team won't as well

  12. Maybe the games should have biggger fences or security gaurds to stop fights like these. I don't think anybodys taken that action. Or we could just make it a criminal offence, starting a fight at a sports match.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yes I sort of agree but you cant go and build fences in the middle of a shoool.

    ReplyDelete
  14. but with the older people games we could have some security cameras in the changing lockers and on the field watching the game

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes but even with cameras fights could still break out.
    Good point jack.

  16. I think the spectators are over the top because its just a fight. it happens in a lot of rugby games so why did it make the paper?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes Sir I have sir I have been in a situation where spectators have been spectators have been over the top of me. But in those types of situations I would feel really fustrated but I would have just ignored it. Imagine how angry the players in the field would feel when people start Booing. When they Boo!!! or things like that people start getting nervous also. This why I think spectators have to be a little bit in control of there self instead of Booing or doing things like that.

  18. sam w its a good point with the secuity gaurds but if it was a criminal offence a lot of people would be getting it and that wouldnt really be fair

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think that they can somtimes are over the top but I think that it really depends on the sprt and how big the insodents are

    ReplyDelete
  20. yes Jack you can't go and build a fence in the middle of the school but you could put barriers which you have to have a card to get onto the field but you have a maximum amount of times getting in the ring and once the time is up then you can't go in again

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes Samuel S. I see your point but have you ever thought why should spectators get out of control when it's just a fight instead of trying to stop the fight. So Samuel are you assuming that if there is a Rugby match or any sport or whatever and if people have a fight the spectators go over control, How you know that?

    ReplyDelete
  22. yes Samuel I think that they made the paper because it was over the top and the fight got so out of hand that the supportors couldn't stop this outraging fight

    ReplyDelete
  23. I see your point Joshua, But have you ever thought about how much money would it cost to make that special barrier just for school Rugby match.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Cameron How could we go finding out if it depends on the sport. I have seen this happen in lots of sports. And where did you come with this conclusion.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes Anubhav I agree with what you said put wouldn't you consider how safer it would be if they put the barrier up?

    ReplyDelete
  26. yes i agree with the statment up top. but i think there should be at least a police at the game if there was anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  27. i think they won't put barriers up any way because the crowd will find a way back on to the field

    ReplyDelete
  28. i know it will try to keep the crowd in but there will have to be another entrens to the field.

    ReplyDelete
  29. i think they were'nt over the top but they shouldent have got involved in the fight and like laughter sometimes getting involved in a fight is the same in some cases

    ReplyDelete
  30. joe I see your point but dont you think having police at a school rugby match?

I think its a bit over the top

    ReplyDelete
  31. samuel I see your point it wasnt a big issue but most rugby games dont have fights to this level with the crowd joining in so it must have been a fairly major fight

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes Joshua I agree with what you said but are you assuming that it wasn't the players fault it was the spectators and the supporters?

    ReplyDelete
  33. anabuv I came to this coclusion becuse some people dont take some sports more seiriously and for excample patonk is a very calm sport and that has not been any insodents from that sport yet

    ReplyDelete
  34. I also think we should have different spectators and in that case we will have different words comming out every week

    ReplyDelete
  35. this has been use full for my last fact I think that this comentating affects the players and the coachs because if they heard this while they were paying then they could hear somthing bad about them and start to get angry and take it out on the other players

    ReplyDelete
  36. i think that the spectators should leave the job of figting and breaking them up to the ref on the field so he can send the players off before the fight gets over the top.

    ReplyDelete
  37. i see your point andrew but have you thaught about other cases around the world

    ReplyDelete
  38. i think that our spetaters are behaving very badly at our sataday rugby games and need to calm down

    ReplyDelete
  39. jimmy i see your point but its not just the spectarers is it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I see your point james but most kiwis rugby is a very major and of course they are going to get excited

    ReplyDelete
  41. i also think there should be police or secrutiy gaurds on the side of the field, if the ref can not control the fights

    ReplyDelete
  42. i disagree with you because the pressure of police might put the players off and that wil ruin the game

    ReplyDelete
  43. I disagree that our spectators are over the top because it is the player who lets go of his self control, i believe that players should train in self control

    ReplyDelete
  44. will can you say why you thik that?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I disagree with you andrew because police do not boo or start negativity it is the player himself or herself who lets go of his self control and starts these things, of course in some of these brawls the parents of the players are involved and I think they do this to protect thier children

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think like that, because players have experience in these situations and to throw their dignity away and throw a punch should be out of question to most of them. I also believe that frustration at the ref is also a major issue with these fights.

    ReplyDelete
  47. will, but they do have a very pressured type of pressance so in my point of veiw the police shouldent be there and explain why you think they should?

    ReplyDelete
  48. do you belive that it is the players fault or the crowds fault for pressuring them into madness?

    ReplyDelete
  49. because without the police the crowd may go crazy. Think of the streakers in cricket and think what no police would mean

    ReplyDelete
  50. it is the crowds responsibility in some ways, but who watchs a sports game quietly? We all cheer and boo sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think the problem is generel lack of curtosey and respect to others and also kids in this age they do what they want when they want and they dont get in trouble...
    what do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  52. do you see my point will?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yes I think sporting spectaters can get very over the top. What I mean about over the top is when thew spectaters see that there is fight or a brawl they won't to join in, maybe because they are angry with the reff that he has made all the good calls for the other team so they won't revenge

    ReplyDelete
  54. i agree with you sean but can you clarify that for me?

    ReplyDelete
  55. i agree andrew kids this age always do what they want when they won't and they deffently should'nt be because they know that they are going to get in a lot of trouble

    ReplyDelete
  56. but sometimes kids do really stupid stuff and they dont get caught so they do it again so what do they do then?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Meaning that the reff has made some bad calls on the game and the spectaters do not like it, so insted of telling the reff that he has made the rong call the take all there anger out on the players

    ReplyDelete
  58. i totaly agree with you sean and they should control their anger with maybe councelling dont you think sean?

    ReplyDelete
  59. That comment is true Andrew but why do you think that they do it in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  60. because they are building up their anger and get so mad that they start a brawl

    ReplyDelete
  61. I dont agree andrew I think councilling is not the way to go because it's not every kid thats getting in fights. Also it would cost non private schools alot of money>

    ReplyDelete
  62. That is a good one they really should do that instead

    ReplyDelete
  63. I agree with you jack it would cause to much trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Also in my opinion the game should be played for fun otherwise dont play

    ReplyDelete
  65. i agree with jack and they need to remember that its just a game

    ReplyDelete
  66. jack I get why you think that people should play for fun? most people would agree with that but most people would get so hooked on winning that they only hate to lose. how would you go about convincing people that losing can be fun?

    ReplyDelete
  67. spectators also are really hooked on the competition and hate it when there team loses but they shouldn't care so much about winning they should watch for the love of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  68. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  69. most spectators involved in their kids sports get wrapped up in the sports and try to live through their children

    ReplyDelete
  70. zac i agree but don't you think it will be very hard to control people from totally loving the game

    ReplyDelete
  71. andrew how do you think the spectators won't care about the game

    ReplyDelete
  72. sean how do you think will take out the anger off the players or spectators?

    ReplyDelete
  73. I disagree amd agree with jack.As Sam said it is a bit like Australia and AFL.Maybe it is just in our nature to be like this. And Jack seems to be assuming that the All blacks play for fun.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I think that it good to be competitive with our rivals and the media take it over the top.No use in mocking people when they miss a kick. Spectators are a bit the same.Getting to involved in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Zach so your saying that they should lay back?
